Colorado Photo Heritage LLC is a family owned and operated business. My name is John Green, and I started this business on the heels of the dot-com bust, and as an outgrowth of my life-long interest in photography. As a high school student back in the 60's I was my school's year book photographer, had my own darkroom, and generally preferred to be behind the camera to being in front of it. My interest in photography continued into adulthood, and I advanced with the times into digital imaging technologies. My career choices have always taken me down the high tech - computer technology path. Early on I worked with IBM mainframe computers as a Systems Programmer. When PC's swept the technology scene, I gradually transitioned my skills to personal computers and networks. I managed servers and networks for many years and earned a number of technical certifications. I have also worked as a product reviewer and technical writer. I have quite a list of published technical articles to my credit - you can check them out at: http://www.winitpro.com/Authors/Index.cfm?AuthorID=188. The decline in the technology sector put a squeeze on magazine advertising revenue, and I found my job a casualty of the times. All this technical work has given me the detail orientation necessary to give you a high quality product. Since the passing of my grandfather at age 93, I have regretted not creating the opportunity to record my grandfather's memories of his family photos - and life in general. I made a commitment to not allow the same opportunity to pass by with my own family's photo memories, and the idea for Colorado Photo Heritage LLC grew out of this commitment. I am the oldest of five children. The death of my father a few years ago left us with a lifetimes worth of family photos - mostly slides. My father organized the slides nicely - but only one of us can keep them. Because computer CD's are so easy to reproduce, scanning our family photos to computer CD made it practical for each of us to have a copy!
